ReplyDeleteThere are pamphlets available on the Idle no More official facebook page under files.
DeleteYou have our support and our faith that with one loud voice, you won't be ignored anymore. I stand beside the first people of this great nation.
ReplyDeleteI was a former teacher in LaTuque, Quebec when Cree students from Mistassini and Waswanapee lived in residence during the school year and attended school there. I
ReplyDeleteam so glad the Aboriginal Peoples are taking a stand on issues of government unilateral action, lack of consultation and lack of say on environmental issues.I fully support your action. If this government isn't willing to listen use your
power of the vote to choose a government which is more in step with your needs.
Peter
Since this government will be in power at least 2 more years and most of their legislation is being put rapidly in place, without proper legislative checks, that isn't much of an alternative. In any case most people have become so disenchanted with the farce of voting they don't bother playing that bullshit game.
ReplyDeleteHi. Greg Moore from Atlanta, Ga. what can I do to be part of this? Please let me know. Email gmoore10@bellsouth.net

ReplyDeleteThis is a long-needed movement, thank you to all who are growing it. I hope to count myself among you. If you could make images that fit the facebook sizes for profile pictures and cover photos, that would help us spread the word...lots of different design choices so people can find one that resonates with them and their online circles. Much love and respect.
ReplyDeleteBefore writing the government in any way, please don't waste your time and that of others. Engaging on this issue is not as easy as flipping a form letter out!
ReplyDeletePlease read further on how to avoid common mistakes with writing the government:

I am an ally and have been sharing links on my FB status. I will advocate for partnership to those who are policy makers/breakers. It is time for a much needed change, it is time for we Canadians to accept the truth of the damage that has been done to Indiginous people. It is time to listen and offer our greatest respect. It is my strongest hope that First Nations and Metis children will be able to break free from the shackles of shame, have their spirits healed and break free of the pain of transgenerational trauma.
ReplyDeleteI am truly excited and offer as much encouragement as I can for this momentum to continue!
Signed: A colonial friend and ally.
I proudly support the Idle No More Movement...GO FOR IT!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you hear what I hear? The d sounds of those sleeping as they come awake... Idle No More!
ReplyDeleteFrom "south of the border," as an indigenous person myself, you have my support! Sharing information with all I know!
ReplyDeleteWhat we do to the land, we do to our bodies. What we do to our water, we do to our blood. What we do to our spirit, we do to our spirit. Idle No More is a step in the right direction to hope and healing. This is MORE than an Indian thing, it is a HUMAN BEING thing!
ReplyDeleteMr. Harper you are a Human Being, can you hear me?
Please produce sweatshirts, b-ball caps and t-shirts for supporters to purchase. The more people promote Idle No More, the better.

Better late than never. It's been a long decade/century.
ReplyDeleteIf the youth can see the opportunity they have here, at last, then we can get further along than the Sixties, the Nineties, & the 'Occupy' movement ever could - these are rights that ANYONE can rally for, since EVERYONE can see the failures of the current system just by reading the news, watching the weather, trying to board an aircraft or trying to feed your family. They can't hide it anymore - change is coming. We can change with it, or we can weaken and fail again. I choose change.
The government is oblivious to the actions and requests of citizens who are not in complete agreement with its aims and policies. Even this courageous Chief seeking dialogue is totally ignored on the doorstep of parliament. Is this democracy? The idea of participation in decision-making is taboo!
ReplyDeleteI'm promoting my petition concerning the First Nations movement and would ask all those who agree with it to sign! Please share it in your circles and through your lists! Thank you. Blessings to All.

ReplyDeleteI support Idle No More. I am Choctaw and Cherokee but reside in the Seminole Nation in Oklahoma, USA. It is time that we all come together and realize that we are One Nation. The borders placed between us by our occupiers is as illegitimate as they are. Together we can be stronger and louder than ever. Let us unite in solidarity! A-HO!
ReplyDeleteSolidarity we will stand forevermore, unite all our peoples over Canada and we will survive
